Children’s Fixed Braces

Amazingly, there are now variations in the types of fixed braces available. We tend to think of traditional train track braces when we talk about fixed braces. But fixed braces can be tailored rather than standardised for young people.

Standard Fixed Braces

These braces have a standard “built in” prescription to allow for a standard outcome.

Bespoke Fixed Braces

These braces allow the clinician to fix the outcome of treatment using tailored prescriptions for each patient, using very detailed diagnostic data relating to the individual patient. These can be useful in some clinical situations.

Self Ligating Fixed Braces

Through the use of light forces it may be possible to consider non-extraction treatments in more borderline cases using these brace types.
