Martin qualified in dentistry at the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1990 and he worked at the Dental Hospital and at regional hospitals before joining the postgraduate orthodontic masters course in Cardiff in 1994.
To gain experience of a practice environment Martin worked in general dental practice and, after successfully completing his specialist training in 1997, he set up the North Cardiff Orthodontic Centre in 1998 to care for predominantly NHS patients.
Together with his business partner and fellow specialist orthodontist Justin Evans, Martin established the Embrace clinic in 2016 to meet the growing demand for private adult orthodontics.
He founded Crocodile the same year, offering more choice and convenience to children and young people in need of orthodontic care.
